The Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships is developing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Languages Policy and invites you to Migin duru – ngalgamala ngali.
The Queensland Government recognize Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language as an important community resource and welcomes communities to celebrate their language and engage with policy makers to advise on how first nation’s languages could be revitalised.
Migin duru – ngalgamala ngali aims to continue consultations and share the findings from Binbi Wadyabay, held in Rockhampton earlier this year. This is an opportunity for South West Queensland communities’ to provide their views on how best to develop a Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Language Policy.
The program includes examples of best practice, presentations and discussions to formulate a Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Languages Policy.
A small amount of financial assistance is available to cover fuel costs for community members attend. To access financial assistance apply via Ask_SW@datsip.qld.gov.au
