Certificate 3 in Community Services – Bokarina

Our training partner Look Now Training are delivering a Certificate 3 in Community Services in Bokarina on the Sunshine Coast.
Prepare yourself to work in a range of community service areas such as Aged Care, Disability, Youth Work and more. By completing this intermediate level qualification, you will learn about case management, individual needs planning, health and well-being strategies, working with disabilities, cultural diversity, working with at-risk individuals and facilitating accurate referrals to specialist services.

Course Delivery:
This qualification is being delivered via fortnightly classroom based tutorials and assessments supported by online learning. You will have 12 months to complete the qualification although if you attend all fortnightly face to face classes you will be able to complete in around 20 weeks.

Entry Requirements:
Must be eligible for Certificate III Guarantee funding
Prior to enrolling your proficiency in language, literacy and numeracy will be assessed to determine any support requirements

Student Contribution Fees are a student’s contribution to the cost of training and assessment services provided by Look Now Training.

Current student contribution fee for this qualification are:
Non-concessional $350
Concessional $200

Students commencing study within 12 months of completing Year 12 may be eligible for fee-free training through this funding program.

Certificate 3 in Individual Support – Maroochydore

Our training partner Look Now Training have teamed up with St Vincent’s Care Services and will be delivering a Certificate 3 in Individual Support in Maroochydore.
This training will help you gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to work in a community or residential setting providing individual support. You will learn how to support independence and well-being, gain a range of technical skills, and develop a range of transferable skills from communication to team work. Successful completion of this course will enable you to work in aged care or disability support.

The program will run 3 days a week for 12 weeks, plus 120 required hours of work experience.

Work Experience with St Vincent’s Care Services.

The practical training requirement for this course will be undertaken onsite at St. Vincent’s Care Services facility. As a key employment partner St. Vincent’s Care Services is looking to recruit directly from the graduates of this course!

Business and Customer Service Program – Maroochydore

Indigenous Workstars has an opportunity for any candidates that are wanting to gain work in the Business sector. This pre-employment program is designed for job seekers and aims to improve employment opportunities by providing the necessary entry level skills for participants wanting to gain work in the business and call centre sectors.

No cost to participants for training.

Eligibility criteria applies:
– A Queensland Resident
– Aged 15 years or older
– Meet Australian Residency requirements
– Committed to undertaking a 10 week (unpaid) employment readiness and certificate II in Business program

Program commences in Jan 2019 and will run for approximately 10 weeks followed by 2 weeks work experience. The program will cover key skills required in the business and call centre sectors including:

– Typing speed and accuracy
– Information handling
– Business comprehension
– Customer service
– Phone skills

The course is proudly funded by the Queensland Government under its Skilling Queenslanders for Work Initiative
