Mandandanji Cultural Heritage Services are seeking expressions of interest from all of our established and aspiring artists to design an art piece that enhances understanding and appreciation of the Mandandanji for all visitors travelling through Roma’s local airport.
The proposal coincides with the Maranoa Regional Council’s commitment to develop, support and promote community-based arts and cultural activities, as well as a commitment from Santos via their Local Industry, Community and Indigenous participation initiative.
Essentially the theme would be for all people to engage with Mandandanji Culture through a wearable platform in the hope that visitors want to learn more and allow our people to explore our identity. This is by no means prescriptive and all concepts will be considered. Entries must be in by the 31st July 2020.
